Cheap flights to Asia and Australia

May 20th, 2010

In late May most of us are still thinking about this year’s summer holiday, but if you are one of those organised types who is already looking for a bargain for next year then Air Asia are running a sale that you should probably know about.

For the next 3 days Air Asia will be selling one way flights from London Stansted to Kuala Lumpur for £249. That’s not bad, but it’s not the really good bit…

Once you are in the Malaysian capital you can buy a ticket to anywhere in Malaysia (including Borneo) for a quid! Last week we wrote a post about great Malaysia beach destinations, how about Langkawi for a pound?

That’s not all. If you are thinking about getting out to Perth or Brisbane for the Aussie summer onward flights from Kuala Lumpur are £32. Melbourne hardly breaks the bank at £43 either.

If you like a bargain but also like a bit of comfort then think about upgrading. In April Air Asia became the first low cost carrier to introduce lie-flat seats. Of course they are a little more than a £1 but they are still amazing value compared to business class.

The sale ends on 23rd of May and prices apply to travel between 3rd January and 8th May. It’s a great time for a stopover in South East Asia!

Closer to home, Scandinavian Airlines have a sale on flights from the UK with one way fares to Copenhagen, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Oslo and Helsinki all from £59 including all taxes.
