The group already has a number of London hotels in Earls Court, South Kensington, Paddington and Victoria as well as hotels at Heathrow and Luton Airport. Further afield easyHotel operates hotels in a number of European locations including Budapest and Berlin and another in Dubai.
The concept is as simple as easyJet itself, book early to get the cheapest prices. The later you book the more you pay. The group also follows the ‘no frills’ philosophy of the airline, your room rate gets you a bed for the night, an en suite bathroom and a towel. Anything else is charged as an extra. Renting a TV for 24 hours costs £5, a 90 minute session on the internet is £6 and luggage storage is £3 a day. Interestingly, if you are staying for multiple nights and would like to have your room cleaned during your stay that costs an extra £10.
If you are looking for a cheap place to sleep in some of the most expensive cities in the world though, you really can’t argue with easyHotel’s prices. With rooms from £25 per night in London and now Edinburgh, £31 per night in Zurich and just £21 per night in Dubai. The cost of many Dubai hotels can be a prohibitive factor when considering a stopover in Dubai when flying to Australia and the Far East.
The Telegraph has recently reviewed both the Earl’s Court and the Zurich hotels, giving both reasonable reports. Positive factors highlighted in both reviews are friendly staff and excellent levels of cleanliness. The main complaints relate to the size of the rooms and the ensuite bathrooms which are described as cramped, there is also some reference to the ‘lurid’ orange colour scheme.
If you are looking for a luxurious hotel room and the sort of thoughtful (and free) inclusions that the better boutique hotels offer you are likely to be disappointed by anything the easy group has to offer. If, however, you are looking for somewhere clean to lay your head for the night at a price that won’t break the bank then easyHotel can help. I for one will be heading to Edinburgh to check out their newest property.
