Cheap Holidays In June

Published on May 21, 2012 by Sophie McGovern

Holidaying in June will not only save you significant amounts of money, but can make for a more laid-back, secluded holiday experience. Here are four reasons why cheap holidays in June are worth shouting about.

One:  Flight Prices

Flight prices are much lower in June than at any other time in the summer. Come July, school holidays have begun and flight prices soar. Airlines run similar numbers of flights in June, but there is not as much competition for seats. You can therefore get the same seat with the same airline at a fraction of the cost. Booking midweek flights can also save you money.

Two: The Climate

The climate in many parts of Europe is at its most agreeable in June: past the Easter winds and potential rain, but before the intense heat of July and August. If you want luxurious Mediterranean sun then this is the time to get it, with June also the perfect time to hit the Greek Islands or coast of Italy.  Team this with the advantage of cheap flights, and you can enjoy a Mediterranean holiday in the just-right June climate.

Three: Less Crowded

Resorts will be significantly less crowded than later in the summer, as will beaches, parks and attractions. Even the most popular holiday destinations are more laid-back at this time of year, leaving you to enjoy your stay without the crowds that can descend later in the summer.

Why not head to the coast of Egypt for some summer sun, gorgeous diving and rich cultural experience before the crowds of peak season arrive? Holidays around Sharm el Sheikh are a perfect example of this, and your flight will be cheaper too.

Resorts in the Balearic islands of Mallorca and Menorca are also quiet at relaxed at this time of year, and Greek Islands such as Zante and Corfu are completely different places than they become in July and August.

Four: Off Peak Accommodation and Activity Prices

To top it off, accommodation will be cheaper too. Holiday cottages in England and Scotland are a prime example of this. For a cheaper family holiday in the beautiful Scottish countryside or at the good old English seaside, visit in June to enjoy accommodation for half the price it will be in a couple of month’s time.

For holidays further afield, visiting in the off peak season will mean you can enjoy off peak prices. This applies to holidays in the Caribbean, safari adventures in Africa, and beach-bound holidays to the Thai coast. Why not travel to the paradise islands of Barbados or Antigua and stay in luxury, five star accommodations for low summer rates?
