Prague has long been accepted as one of the best holiday destinations in Eastern Europe, but May is a particularly good time to visit before the tourist crowds swell in the summer. There are also two major cultural events in Prague this month. Prague Fringe runs from the 27th of May to the 4th of June and artists from an eclectic mix of genres including comedy, music, theatre, puppetry, cabaret and mime will be giving well over 200 performances over 9 days. This year is the tenth Prague Fringe Festival and it promises to be an event to remember! Fans of classical music will enjoy the Prague Spring International Music Festival which opens on the 12th of May and also closes on the 4th of June with a performance from Sir Simon Rattle’s Berlin Philharmonic.

The students festival has already started in Faro and will run until mid-May, so there will be plenty going on in the Algarve including performances from international DJs and musicians.
