The island of Tenerife is the biggest of the Canary Islands. It has fantastic weather, which is one of the reasons why such a large number of people holiday here. Some of the beaches are attractions in themselves, containing black sand from the eruption of the Teide volcano. However, if you want the typical golden sands of a dream holiday in the sun, Tenerife can also offer these in abundance. If this is your idea of heaven, head to Las Teresitas, where the beach provides a safe place for family fun such as swimming and snorkeling.  

 

There is a wide range of choice for Tenerife accommodation. From cheap rooms to five-star hotels, this island has it all, and you can even rent a private apartment or villa. A lot of popular Tenerife hotels are to be found in the main tourist areas. For example, the Costa Adeje Gram is one of the premier five-star hotels in Tenerife. Situated in the luxury resort of Playa del Duque in the south, you can find beautiful botanical gardens, swimming pools and delicious restaurants with a variety of food. You can also visit the hotel spa and gym, as well as take part in a friendly game of tennis.

 

If you want something a little bit different, try the rural house, La Finquita Restaurant and Guesthouse. Found in the south of the island, it provides BBQ’S, Sunday lunches and alfresco terrace dining. You can view the mountains and sunsets wile eating in the restaurant, made from the original volcanic rock. There is a country pub here as well, with great wines and beers to enjoy.

 

There are also a lot of great food places in Tenerife. The balmy climate here means that fruits and vegetables can be grown throughout the year and the Atlantic Ocean seafood is known for being deliciously fresh. A sauce called ‘mojo’ is traditional throughout Tenerife and the restaurant Oasis, on the main street of Adeje, is one example of a one that serves this sauce.

 

Many restaurants in Tenerife show their influence from around the world, whether it is an Inn or a Bistro, there is a lot of choice. In the capital, Santa Cruz, there are many great restaurants and bars dotted around the shops. A specific delicacy here is Tapas, served in bars for your delight, ensuring your stay is especially tasty.
