Situated in the south-east of Africa, Malawi is landlocked by Tanzania, Zambia, and Mozambique. It's divided by the Great Rift Valley, and the giant Lake Malawi is 587 kilometres long. Home to the World Heritage Sites of Lake Malawi National Park and Chongoni Rock Art Area, the country has a principally rural population of almost 15 million people. Its capital city, Lilongwe is situated in the centre of the country, and has a significant European ex-pat community. With 8 national parks, the he lake and its diverse wildlife and culture, Malawi has much to offer visitors. Don't miss the Lake of Stars International Music Festival in Mangochi, a must-do for music lovers.
