Running along the eastern border of Malawi, near Mozambique and Tanzania lies the third largest lake in Africa, Lake Malawi. A place of immense biodiversity, the lake is home to more species than any other body of freshwater in the world. The area is rich in rare wildlife, including African Painted Hunting dogs, hippocampus and sea eagles. Because the area has beaches and islands, it's well-visited and resorts offer everything from snorkelling to water skiing in it waters.
