Taxis are by far the most convenient form of transport. They also have the advantage of being very cheap. The 'petit taxis' are used within the city. They are light blue. Usually Peugeot 205 or small fiat. A trip from the 'ville nouvelle' to the medina will only cost you 10 Dirhams (about 1 Euro). For trips outside the city you can use the 'grand taxi'. They are light grey Mercedes.
