Guide to Rabat

map
Located on the mouth of the River Bou Regreg, on the northern coastline of Morocco, the city of Rabat is the country's third largest, wih a total population of just over 620,000 people living in its urban areas. Rabat is well-known as a stronghold and for its beautiful Royal Palace. Don't miss the old Carthaginian city of Chelia, abandoned by humans, now adopted by hundreds of nesting birds.
