Banana Islands is a set of 3 islands 5 miles off the coast of Kent. Lush rain forest rises from the sea onto volcanic hills. There are 2 fishing villages 8 miles apart. The waters around the island are full of fish making Banana Island a prime destination for fishing. Local fishermen and international sports fishermen favor the waters around. Numerous shipwrecks are found in shallow and deeper waters of the islands, most unmarked. Tourist infrastructure exists only on the north tip of the island in the form of small Guesthouses. Banana Islands have also the only Dive Center in Sierra Leone (www.Banana-Divers.biz.ly). The trip from the Kent takes 30 minutes by local boats or 10 minutes by speed boat.
