The third largest city in South Africa, Durban lies on the country's eastern coast, and has a population of 4.5 million inhabitants. Not only is it a busy port, it's ethnically diverse, and has a mild climate. Head to the Golden Mile, a stretch of beach which is excellent for surfing, take in the Dolphin show at the uShaka Marine World or grab a curry. Durban has the highest population of Indians out with India, so there's a good chance it'll taste authentic!
