The dormant volcano of Kilimanjaro is located in the National Park of the same name, in Tanzania. It's Africa's highest peak, reaching 19,000 feet at its summit. It comprises three volcanic cones; Kibo, Mawenzi and Shira, with Uhru peak forming its most elevated point. The landscape covers habitats as diverse as bush land, tropical rain forest and moorland. There are six official routes for climbing Kilimanjaro, some easier than others. Don't miss the volcanic lake and the natural waterfalls if its possible to include them in your ascent!
