Guide to Tunis

map
Tunisia's largest city and capital, Tunis has a total population of 728,000 people. It lies on the Gulf of Tunis, looking out onto the Mediterranean Sea. Tunis is located to the north east of the country, and slopes down towards the lake of Tunis. The city is divided into two parts, the older area of the Medina, and the newer city areas. It's well connected for trips to Carthage, or within city limits, the souq is the perfect place to while away an afternoon.
