In the Guangdong Province, on the Pearl River lies the city of Guangzhou, around 120 kilometres north of Hong-Kong. It's near the Baiyun Mountain, and part of the Pearl River Delta. The city has a population of 12 million people living in its urban areas, and was formerly known as Canton. It's traditionally well known for foreign trade, and host to the world's largest trade fair, though this is balanced with a rich history and culture. Don't miss the views from its beautiful White Cloud Mountain, visit the Canton Tower, China's tallest structure, and seek serenity in one of the many elegant temples dotted around the city.
