Around 335 kilometres from Jaiphur, and the second largest city in Rajasthan, Jodhpur is located in the Thar desert, and is a popular tourist destination. It has a total population of3.6 million inhabitants, and is distinctive for the many blue painted houses that line the streets near its Mehragarh Fort. The huge building occupies a commanding position at the top of a 150 metre high hill, and even visitors can whizz through its gardens on a flying fox!
