Guide to Nagoya

map
The third largest city in Japan, with a population of over 2.2 million people, Nagaya is located on the Nobi Plain, north of Ise Bay to the east of the Kiso River and to the southwest of the Shonai River. The city is also riven from north to south by the Hori River, which was man made as a transportation system. Mainly recognised as an economic and industrial area, there are nonetheless treasures to be found by tourists, including the famous castle and surrounding gardens, the Atsuta Shrine which is host to over 70 events annually, and the large and delightful Port of Nagoya Aquarium.
