Guide to Kathmandu

map
Nepal's capital, as well as its largest city, Kathmandu is situated in the valley of the same name in the Himalayan Mountains, and is connected to a network of smaller towns, as well as the cities of Lalitpur and Bhaktapur. It has an estimated total population of 790,000 people, and is famous for being the gateway to the state's tourism, and for its history, which dates back over 200 years. The monuments in the area have been designated World Heritage Status by UNESCO. Many of these can be found in proximity to Durbar Square, a must see on any visit to the city!
