Guide to Kandy

map
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Kandy is a city at the heart of Sri Lanka, in the Kandy plateau, and surrounds an artificial lake. Famous as one of the most important Buddhist locations in the world, and for the Temple of the Tooth Relic, one of Sri Lanka's most holy shrines, Kandy has a total population of 110,000. Don't miss the Pinnewala Elephant Orphanage, especially if travelling with children!
