Around 200 kilometres to the north of Brisbane, Fraser Island is 120 kilometres long, and lies off the southern coast of Queensland, Australia. It has a minute population of around 320 people, and has been recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. It's well known for being the largest sand island in the world, and for its incredible biodiversity, home to dingoes, ospreys, sea eagles, wallabies and flying foxes. Don't miss Lake Wabby, where tourists often spot freshwater turtles!
