Guide to Hobart

map
Tasmania's most populous city, and its capital, Hobart has been built on the estuary of the Derwent River at the base of the towering Mount Wellington. It has a total population of 214,000 people, and is well known for being the business and financial heart of the island, as well as a formal penal colony. It's an extremely historic area of Australia, and visitors can learn about its heritage at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery. Don't miss the Peppermint Bay Cruise, a luxury yacht which offers a fantastic tour of the bay and luxury meal!
