A town in Southwest Australia, Margaret River is the location of the river of the same name, and lies around 277 kilometres to the south of the city of Perth. It's only 9 kilometres from the coastline with the Indian Ocean, and enjoys a humid Mediterranean climate, making it ideal for the boutique wine industries, which thrives in the Margaret River Valley area. The area is also dappled with interesting caves, six of which are open to visitors. Don't miss the Mammoth Cave, a huge, multi-pocketed formation containing fossils dating back 35,000 years.
