A small village in New South Wales, Australia, Nimbin has a population of around 352 people, and lies around 70 kilometres to the west of Byron Bay. Nimbin is well known as a small hub of Cannabis Counterculture, and the hippie contingent who are tolerated in spite of the general prohibition of the drug in other areas of Australia. The town also holds an annual MardiGrass festival, which attracts thousands of pro-cannabis protesters to its streets. Don't miss the sunrise on Mount Warning, the first place on mainland Australia to be struck by the sun's rays in the morning.
