One of the most isolated cities in the world, Perth is also the capital of Western Australia. It has a total population of almost 1.7 million inhabitants. It lies over 2000 kilometres from Adelaide, its closest large city, and it lies to the north of the Swan river, and to the south of the railway line. It lies between the Indian Ocean and the Darling Range. Perth is a laid-back capital, with clean beaches and a Mediterranean climate. Don?t miss the beautiful Swan Bells tower, swim in the sea or head to the Big Day Out Festival for some live music in February.
