One of the suburbs which make up the communities of Australia's Gold Coast, Surfer's Paradise has a population of over 18,500 people. Around 78 kilometres from Brisbane, Surfers started as a small sugar farm on the banks of the Nerang River. The beach has long been acclaimed as one of the best and cleanest beaches, though it's also known for its high-rise buildings, and of course those lively waves dashing against its shoreline. The best time to visit for surf is between October and March, though the area has a vibrant, youthful nightlife too!
