Guide to Whitsundays

map
An archipelago off the central coastline of Queensland, the Whitsunday Islands are around 900 kilometres north of Brisbane. Made up of 74 islands, some of the more frequented include Daydream Island and Hamilton Island, which has its own airport. Head to the gleaming white sands of Whitehaven Beach for a picture perfect beach frolic, or if you can afford it, Hamilton Island, which recently advertised its caretakers position as Best Job in the World. Long island is the most undeveloped of the resort destinations, while Hook Island has its own underwater observatory!
