Guide to Wellington

map
The capital city of New Zealand, Wellington is located on the country's North Island. It has a total population of 393,000 people, making it the country's second most populous city. It lies at the divide between the two islands, on the Cook Strait and to the west of the Rimutaka Mountain Range. It's also the world's most southern capital, and is characterised by a beautiful harbour. Escape the city to the nearby Red Rocks Seal Colony, or attend the quirky Becks Film Festival which revels in unusual and low budget cinema.
