Located between China and Russia, in East Central Asia, Mongolia is one of the world's larger countries. With mountainous, chillier regions to its north, and the Gobi desert to its south, Mongolia has a predominantly cold climate. The country has a total population of 2.7 million inhabitants, and its capital is Ulan Bator. There are many ways to explore the vast expanses of terrain in this country, though the trans-Siberian railway might be the most enjoyable. Check out the Bogd Khan Palace Museum, soak up the beauty of the Terelj National Park, or head to one of the monasteries and find inner peace.
