Guide to Bukhara

map
One of the principal cities of Uzbekistan, Bukhara is the country's fifth largest city with a population of 263,000 people. Its centre is a World Heritage Site. The city is known for its diverse population, as and as a trade centre, located, as it is, on the Silk Road. It has over 140 architectural relics of the Middle Ages, among these, make sure to view the Kalon Minaret, the Ark Citadel and the Ismoil Somoni Mausoleum. For a traditional experience, head to the Hammam, one of the cities most famous bathhouses.
