Guide to Linz

map
One of the largest cities in Austria, Linz can be found just 30km from the country's border with the Czech Republic, straddling the beautiful River Danube. It has a population of 189,000 people. Although lacking the architectural beauty of, say, Salzburg, this industrial city is in no way bereft of charm. As well as numerous historical buildings, especially religious ones, there are more modern places such as the glass facades of the Lentos Museum. In recent years there has been a real investment in its cultural development. Don't miss the international Pflasterspektakel in July, an event which brings all the fun of over 500 circus-style acts to the city's streets!
