Guide to Sarajevo

map
Bosnia and Herzegvina's capital, Sarajevo lies near the centre of the country, in the middle of the Dinaric Alps and in the Sarajevo Valley. It's characterised by the Milkacka river, which splits the city and forms distinctive, attractive landmarks such as the Vrelo Bosne. The city has a population of 430,000 people and is known for being a mesh of east and west. The Old Town, Latin Bridge and Yellow Fortress are all attractive sights, and don't miss the Sarajevo Film Festival, which gets underway in July.
