Guide to Korcula

map
Located in the Dalmatian archipelago, in the Adriatic Sea, lies the island of Korcula. It's around 46 kilometres in length, and has a total population of 16,000 people, with many living in its principal town, Korcula. It is thought Marco Polo might have been born there, and it's the most easterly town on the island. As well as beautiful beaches and waters dappled with sea urchins, there are opportunities for kayaking, snorkelling and cycling. Don't miss an excursion to Mijet, an island nearby with salt lakes and its own monastery!
