A tiny hilltop village in the Croatian region of Istria, to the far west of the country on the border with Slovenia, Motovun has a population of just 531 people. The native language of Motovun is Italian, and the wider area is known for its exquisite truffles, which are readily available in restaurants and shops in town. Once an ancient city, there are still the remnants of many medieval buildings in Motovun including the Parish of St Steven. Don't miss the International Film Festival which shows indie and avant-garde movies to its visitors.
