Rovinj is less than an hour north of Pula airport by bus and this charming Mediterranean fishing port is another incredibly popular holiday destination on Istria’s Adriatic coast. The patron saint of the town is St Euphemia (known locally as Saint Fuma) who is said to have miraculously washed ashore after being martyred by Emporer Diocletian. The impressive baroque church that towers over the town is dedicated to St Fuma and her holiday in September is always a lively time to be in town. Another real highlight of a visit to Rovinj is the cobbled street of Grisia where local artists sell their work on the street.
