Croatia's largest city and capital, Zagreb has a total population of 686,000 people living in its urban areas. Its well connected to the other Croatian regions, being centrally located, and on the Sava River. The city Is characterised by its medieval old town areas, and is split between the upper and lower areas of the town. The town also has two scenic lakes, Jarun and Bundek. Don't miss the impressive Mirogoj, a beautiful cemetery which becomes lit by thousands of candles on the Croatian Day of the Dead.
