Guide to Copenhagen

map
With a population of almost 1.2 million inhabitants living in its urban areas, Copenhagen is Denmark's largest city, as well as its capital. Located on the island of Zealand's eastern shoreline, the city faces to the east, towards Sweden, across the Oresund. Well known for its high quality of living, environmentally diligent city streets and its cultural development, Denmark is a sophisticated, exciting place to visit. Head to the Danish National Gallery to view some exemplary artworks, visit the palaces of Amalienborg and visit the city's two beaches on a sunny day for a spot of swimming in its clean waters.
