People can be a little surprised when they arrive in Bordeaux and find themselves in a big city, student filled city with a lively nightlife. Alongside the busy bar and club scene though is a city with many historical attractions. The city’s stunning neoclassical architecture and many pedestrianised boulevards was enough to place them on the UNESCO world heritage list.
Bordeaux airport is easily accessible from the UK with cheap flights from a number of UK airports. For more information on getting from Bordeaux airport to the city centre check out the local transport section of the guide.
Slap bang in the middle of wine country you would be mad not to take a wine tour while you are here. Also check out the bridges at Les Quais and visit La Victoire to see the Roman arch. There are also some great bars in that area of town.
