Guide to Chamonix

map
A famous resort in the east of France, Chamonix is the site of the first ever Winter Olympics and looks onto Mont Blanc, which has an elevation of over 15,000 feet. It has a population of over 9,000 people, and is famous for its incredible skiing areas, as well as its dizzying cable cars, and the Mer de Glace glacier, one of the largest in Europe. Don't miss the Mountain Sanctuary, the perfect retreat for some yoga and relaxation.
