In the south-easternmost point in France, near the border with Spain in Northern Catalonia lies the city of Perpignan. It's home to around 126,000 inhabitants and is well-known for being the muse of artist Salvador Dali, who claimed he got all his ideas from sitting in its railway station. It's also capital of Catalan Culture. Don't miss the Palace of the Kings of Majorca Festival, which is held in the last week in August, and welcomes a mix of musicians to the city.
