To the east of Marseille, on the south-eastern coast of the French Riviera lies the commune of St Tropez, with a total population of around 5,600 people. Well known as an opulent, sun-drenched beach resort, the town has a glitzy lineage which enspheres the French New Wave cinema movement, and celebrities such as Brigitte Bardot. Don't miss the Musee de l'Annonciade, a converted church which shows a broad range of modern art.
