On the western bank of the River Rhine lies the city of Mainz, Germany. It has a total population of almost 200,000 people and was once a fort city in Roman Times, as well as one of the first places in Europe to print books using movable type. Visit the Schillerplatz, a square in the city with a beautiful fountain, or check out the restored Roman warships in the Museum of Ancient Navigation.
