Guide to Regensburg

map
Situated at the confluence of the Regen and the Danube rivers, and to the west of the Bavarian forest lies the city of Regensburg. It has a total population of 135,000 inhabitants, and its medieval centre is recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Famous as one of Germany's oldest settlements, the city has many medieval places of interest, including its magnificent cathedral and stone bridge. Don't miss the church of Obermonster, which dates as far back as 1010!
