map
On the eastern coast of the Saronic Gulf, the Athenian port of Piraeus lies on the southern shores of Greece. With a total population of 175,000 people, Piraeus is well known as a harbour and the largest marine based shipping centre in the country. Visit the surrounding islands on a ferry trip, head to Athens on the Metro and visit the city's small Archaeological museum.
