Guide to Rhodes Town

map
On the island of the same name, the city of Rhodes lies in the South Aegean Sea, and has a population of over 53,000 inhabitants. Well known as the site of one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Colossus of Rhodes, the area itself has been designated World Heritage Status for its medieval town areas. All of the old town sites can be seen without breaking the bank, including the Archaeological Museum which offers a tour of the city walls. There's also the Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes, a huge complex containing the artefacts of Ancient Rhodes.
