Guide to Killarney

map
North of the MacGillcuddy Reeks, on the northeast shore of the Lough Lein lies the town of Killarney, located in County Kerry in southwest Ireland. The town has a total population of 13,000, and was recognised in 2007 as the UK's best kept town. The beautiful lakes and mountains of the nearby national park are a tourist magnet, and its shop fronts are notoriously pristine. Check out Muckross Abbey, a friary dating back to the 14th century, or for a more natural diversion the Torc Waterfall is astounding, and included in most tour itineraries.
