Knock in County Mayo, on the west coast of Ireland is a major Catholic Pilgrimage site, after an apparition of Our Lady appeared in 1879 at the Knock Parish Church. It has been visited by both the Pope and Mother Theresa, and is visited by over one and a half a million people annually, making it a major place of tourist interest in Ireland.
