Located in the Shannon region of the Republic of Ireland is the country's fifth most populous city, with a total of 90,000 people living in its urban area. The city overlooks the river Shannon, as well as King John's Castle, and is famous for being a Viking town which melds modern to medieval to great success. Check out the dizzying spire of St John's Cathedral, and then roar with the rugby crowd in Thomond Park.
