An area on the coastline of the Italian Riviera, Cinque Terre is in the Liguria area of Italy, consisting of five villages: Corniglia, Manarola, Riomaggiore, Vernazza, and Monterosso al Mare. All five villages are part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Four of the villages are brightly coloured, and creep down the shoreline on a steep relief, in stratified, narrow streets. Monterosso is significantly more modern in style, and more of a resort town. Don't miss the wonderful hiking trails to be navigated in the region, some of the best in the world!
