Located on the north-eastern coastline of Sicily, Italy, the city port of Messina has a population of 250,000 people, making it one of the island's largest cities. It lies on the Strait of Messina, facing the mainland, and it's well known for its agriculture, as well as a Roman Catholic Seat. Its cathedral contains the body of King Conrad, the city is dotted with beautiful fountains and visitors should stop off at the Regional Museum, which, among others, contains works by Caravaggio.
