The tour takes you on a journey through some of the most important Basilicas in Rome and the Ancient Streets. You will visit of the Basilica of St John in Lateran and the Cathedral of Rome, famous for its baroque and medieval masterpieces.You will then visit the Holy Stairs which, according to tradition, were climbed by Jesus Christ during his Passion. Then we will pass through the Porta di San Sebastiano to arrive on the Ancient Appian Way, where we will find the Chapel of Domine Quo Vadis where St.Peter supposedly met Jesus while fleeing persecution in Rome. We will then have a visit underground of the early Christian burial grounds, the Catacombs of St.Sebastian, who was martyred under Diocletian in 288. We will then have a visit of the Basilica of St.Mary Major where, according to legend, the Virgin Mary appeared in c358.
