Guide to Siena

map
In the centre of Italy's Tuscany region, the city of Siena is situated, around 70 kilometres to the south of Florence. Its historic centre is a World Heritage Site, and the city has a relatively small population of around 54,000 inhabitants. It's famous cathedral dates back to the 12th century, and the city is also host to The Palio, a traditional horse race run twice a year in the summer. Do get involved in the evening Passeggio, a walk through the town which visitors are welcome to join.
